# Types of Land Ownership

Bit.Country has four levels of land ownership;

* **Raw Land Block** - A Land Block that has not been deployed into any Metaverse. There is a limited supply of Raw Land Blocks. The Treasury issues raw and blocks. The issuance can be subject to change and is voted for by the community through a [Governance proposal](/user-manual/governance/creating-a-proposal.md).
 * Pioneer = 10,000 Raw Land Blocks
 * Continuum = 100,000 Raw Land Blocks

* **Land Block** - Once a Raw Land Block is deployed into the Metaverse, it transforms into 100 individual Land Units arranged in a 10 by 10 square. Each land unit is 100 square meters of virtual land. Hence the total area of a Raw Land Block is 10,000 square meters. Deploying a raw Land Block is an irreversible action.
* **Land Unit** - The smallest parcel of land on Bit.Country. Each Land Unit is 10m by 10m, which creates a total area of 100 square meters.

* **Estate** - To increase the buildable area to be larger than 1 Land Unit, you need to create an Estate. An Estate is created by merging a minimum of 2 Land Units. Creating at Estate is an irreversible action.
